Signe Kongebro appointed to board of Aarhus School of Architecture
Signe Kongebro, Partner at Henning Larsen and Adjunct Professor at the University of Sheffield, has been named Vice Chairman of the board of the Aarhus School of Architecture.
The Danish Minister of Education and Research, Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen, has appointed a new board of directors for the Aarhus School of Architecture. This board will, for the next four years, contribute to the school's strategic work and support the school's interests as an institution through artistic and scientific development, teaching and research, and architecture.
The chairman of the new board will be Carsten With Thygesen, who for the past four years has been a member of the school's board and is also vice-chairman of the board at Realdania and chairman of the Forest Council. Vice Chairman becomes partner in Henning Larsen, Signe Kongebro.
According to With Thygesen, the composition of the new board reflects a political desire for increased focus on sustainability. As the founder of Henning Larsen's sustainability department and one of the industry's most prominent profiles in sustainable construction, Kongebro's appointment confirms this assumption. According to Kongebro, her most important task will be to bring precisely this knowledge and experience to the table, not to mention her large network in the industry.
The full board of the Aarhus School of Architecture consists of Chairman Carsten With Thygesen, Vice Chairman Signe Kongebro, Architect Andreas Lykke-Olesen, Architect Søren Nielsen and Managing Director of the Organic Lands Association, Helle Borup Friberg. In addition, four internally elected members will serve. The new board will meet for the first time in the first quarter of 2020.
