‘Changing Our Footprint’, a provocative and explorative exhibition at Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin

On Friday 3rd February, we hosted an evening of celebration and conversation to mark the opening of our new exhibition in Berlin, just eight months after we opened a new design studio in the city.

Titled ‘Changing Our Footprint’, the exhibition – running until Wednesday 22nd March - is designed to start a dialogue about the future of the building industry and its outsized environmental impact. The opening event was well attended, with hundreds of architects, students, clients and collaborators visiting the exhibition and starting an important conversation.

As a global architecture practice, we address the challenges we face, embracing the responsibility of bettering ourselves and our work to meet the needs of people and planet. The projects, materials and exhibits represent our small but scalable steps as we progress towards a desirable future through research, testing and continuous learning.

With a theme of ‘rolling out the sketch paper’, the nature of the work presented does not offer the final, definitive answer but instead asks the difficult questions, and invites visitors to explore potential solutions.

The opening event carried the same collaborative theme, with speeches from Dr Kristin Feireiss, Aedes Architecture Forum, Katharina Benjamin, Co-founder of Kontextur, and Louis Becker, Global Design Principal at Henning Larsen.
