We are seeking an Associate, Landscape Architecture to join our expanding team in the Kuala Lumpur Eco City office under Ramboll Malaysia. This role will work closely with our Singapore landscape architecture studio and connect with colleagues across our global design network. You will be part of a collaborative, cross-border environment known for delivering award-winning, sustainable landscape and urban design projects.

As our new Associate you will be part of an interdisciplinary studio with landscape architecture, urban design and urban hydrology expertise, working on sustainable projects worldwide. We have delivered innovative and sustainable design solutions for a wide range of developments through our multidisciplinary expertise in master planning, urban design, and landscape architecture.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
Cross-Studio Collaboration and Leadership (KL and Singapore)
- Act as a key connector between the Kuala Lumpur and Singapore studios, enabling seamless collaboration across projects and teams.
- Foster one integrated design community through shared design values, ways of working, and quality benchmarks.
- Support cross-border resource planning, knowledge sharing, and collective problem solving.
- Initiate and participate in joint design reviews, learning sessions, and studio-wide initiatives.
- Contribute to building a unified studio culture across both locations.
Design and Project Leadership
- Lead concept and schematic design for key projects, in close collaboration with Design Directors and Project Leads.
- Translate design intent into robust detailed design, drawings, and tender documentation.
- Guide projects through construction, ensuring design integrity, quality, and alignment with project ambitions.
- Coordinate with consultants, authorities, and contractors to resolve design and technical challenges.
Team and Quality Management
- Lead and mentor project teams, providing design guidance, technical oversight, and constructive critique.
- Maintain high standards of design quality, innovation, and technical rigor across all stages.
- Support capability building, skills development, and professional growth within the Kuala Lumpur team.
- Contribute to establishing best practices, templates, and workflows for the emerging studio.
Business Development and Strategic Support
- Support marketing, proposals, and client presentations, particularly for Malaysia-based and regional opportunities.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with clients, collaborators, and authorities.
- Contribute to local and regional strategic planning, including resourcing and delivery planning.
- Support productivity, innovation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives across the APAC landscape practice.

For this role, we believe your starting point is:
- A degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field (e.g., Urban Design, Environmental Design, or Architecture with a landscape focus).
- Typically 8+ years of professional experience in a landscape architecture, urban design or design practice.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects from concept through to construction.
- A strong design portfolio showing creativity, technical competence, and contextual sensitivity.
- Solid understanding of construction methodologies, detailing, and delivery processes.
- Experience working on complex urban, public realm, infrastructure, or ecological projects.
- Proven ability to mentor teams and contribute to a collaborative studio culture.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills, including presentations and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and related design tools.
- Experience with parametric tools, BIM, GIS, or environmental modelling is an advantage.
- A proactive, curious, and forward-thinking mindset, with a strong interest in resilience and regenerative design.
