What brought you to Henning Larsen?

I was intrigued by the opportunity to work for a Danish architecture studio, be part of a global design community, and have the opportunity to work on projects with both high standards of design excellence and impact. I was also very excited to join the Sydney studio from the very beginning in 2023; being part of a completely new team where everyone is in the same boat provides the opportunity to really shape and form the culture of the office.

What do you enjoy most about working at Henning Larsen?

I’m very inspired by being part of a big design community that values inclusion, and where all opinions and professional backgrounds are listened to and heard. We all bring different things to the table, and when solving sometimes very complex design challenges, being part of a co-creative and interdisciplinary team is fun and educational.

What motivates you in your work?

I’m motivated by great teamwork, not just with my team, but also in a wider perspective, working with collaborators and clients. Working through all the design challenges to resolve issues to make a better building, and then seeing all that hard work come to life is very exciting and rewarding.

Which projects are you particularly proud of and why?

The Albert Street Tower in Brisbane, Australia, also called the Rainforest Tower, is a fantastic project on a prime location within the Brisbane Central Business District. The project has very high design aspirations but also targets a very high sustainability standard. The interwoven process of ‘Designing with Country’ has really had a big influence on all aspects of design, from the design narrative to the approach of circularity and sustainability. I really look forward to continue working on this project.

Looking back on your time with Henning Larsen, how have you grown in your role and developed your skills?

I feel that I’ve continuously challenged my comfort zone and improved my skillset for the benefit of both the team and the projects I work on. I have been able to bring my past experiences into use and develop how I communicate and interact with all parties of a large project team, taking on board more responsibilities and feeling confident about them.
