The Design Department contributed to the preparation of the tender documents in relation to both the interior design and signage. The interior design was described in detail and tendered in collaboration with the local consultant, White. The process included selecting furniture, including customised furniture such as desks, lecterns and furniture for AV equipment, in a close dialogue with the users.
The signage consist of static signs, including for instance facade signs, information signs, glass signs and keymaps as well as dynamic and more communicative solutions with the purpose of continuously providing users with information of the concerts, congresses and events of the building. The latter of the two mainly consist of digital and customised solutions.
As a whole, the decorative and dynamic signage of the building make it easy for visitors as well as employees to find their way and to get the information they need. Uppsala Concert and Congress Hall functions as an open, public cultural centre featuring a foyer, concert halls, multifunctional halls, a café, meeting facilities and lounge areas.
