Jes Tonsgaard Andersen

Jes primarily focuses on the development and examination of architectural issues through the use of new, innovative digital tools. Jes specialises in parametric and script-based design and works in the intersection between architectural visions and rational limitations. Jes’ work with associative, regulation-based virtual models has proved crucial for the development and communication of complicated architectural ideas and principles both internally and externally.

Experience

Jes has particular experience in compacting and complex design processes that make heavy demands on the architect's artistic sense and the ability to combine it with a rational and efficient process management.

Recently, Jes worked on a number of the studio's large Middle Eastern projects are characterized by very complex geometries and design ideas. Jes has been a key figure in the development of projects, including through the development of computer scripts and virtual models. Jes has a special focus on the facade development and has among other things, written scripts for the facades of Massar Chrildren's Discovery Centre and Villas in the Sky, the latter consists of more than 50,000 computer-generated elements of high precision and with a high level of integrated quality assurance.
