Healing Architecture on Film |

With two new films, Henning Larsen Architects has put focus on one of the most important aspects in hospital building: the users. The two films are based on conversations and interviews with the users of the Radiotherapy building and the Research Institute of the Norwegian Radium Hospital in Oslo, Norway.
The films form part of the continuous experience collection of Henning Larsen Architects and constitute an important tool in terms of continuously optimising processes and improving future projects in relation to their interaction with the users.
The film about the Research Institute for instance features an interview with the head of the Institute, Erik Boye, who explains how the organisation of the rooms and the large joint atrium have provided the building with a higher degree of transparency, intimacy and interdisciplinary dialogue. In the film about the new Radiotherapy building, nurses and patients tell about the building – about how the spaces, interior layout and inflow of daylight influence the patients’ well-being and recovery.
For Henning Larsen Architects hospital building is a special area of focus. We currently take part in several national competitions, including the competition for Gødstrup Hospital, Herlev Hospital and Odense University Hospital and Faculty of Health Sciences.
