The IMAGINATION workshops are combined symposium and workshops. The aim is to explore and enhance awareness of a specific contemporary challenge in our physical surroundings. During the workshop wishes and ideas for future improvement will be materialized in the form of words, drawings and physical installations.
IMAGINATION is an independent platform aiming for cross cultural dialogue between architectural students from various cultural and learning environments seeking to explore a present challenge in the MENA region. The objective is to create an informal forum for students from the MENA region and Europe, who will work together, discuss their ideas and exchange their experiences concerning architecture, education or life in general.
The IMAGINATION projects are collaborations between invited schools of architecture, initiated and organized by Henning Larsen Architects Levant on a non-profit basis. The first IMAGINATION school was held in Damascus, Syria in 2008. The theme was Damascus Identity. The summer school included 26 students together with 6 tutors from Damascus University, Syria, Berlin TU, Germany and Aalborg University, Denmark as well as 12 local and international lecturers. The second IMAGINATION workshop was held in autumn 2009 as a three week workshop on Prototype Schools with students from Damascus University. This years' workshop will include students from Lebanon, Syria, United Kingdom and Denmark.
