The international congress taking place from 11 - 13 December 2011 will focus on the creation of contemporary iconic architecture in Saudi Arabia. On 13 December, Jacob Kurek will speak about the design of the masterplan, King Abdullah Financial District, which is a modern translation of traditional Saudi Arabian design.
The masterplan and buildings of KAFD designed by Henning Larsen Architects are all characterised by uniting an innovative architectural expression with local distinctiveness, while at the same time providing a high level of sustainability – environmentally and socially – for the whole area. The first buildings of King Abdullah Financial District will be inaugurated in November 2012.
