“Cell formation, rock formation, eruption, birth, vibration: there are cosmic forces at work within Harpa.” These words describe the associations of the writer, Alexandra Onderwater, when he first experienced the large concert hall in Reykjavik situated on the border between land and sea.
His article in MARK magazine, Issue no. 35, ‘Let there be Light’, features a description of the concert hall, an interview with Partner and Design Director Peer Teglgaard Jeppesen, Henning Larsen Architects, and a series of photos taken by the Canadian photographer Nic Lehoux.
Since the opening in May 2011, Harpa has featured in several international magazines and journals. MARK magazine, published by FRAME Publishers, has gained worldwide recognition since the first publication in 2005 and is well-known for producing professional and visually pungent articles on contemporary architecture.
