Among the seven teams participating in the first phase of the competition, a unanimous jury selected three interdisciplinary teams to proceed to the second phase where the proposals will be further developed.
In addition to Polyform Architects and Drees & Sommer, the team of Henning Larsen Architects includes the following specialists: Argus Engineering and WTM Engineers (traffic and infrastructure), Rambøll (parking and traffic planning) and Speirs & Major (light design).
The three teams that have proceeded to the negotiation phase each offer their own proposal for how to bring together the city of Odense again across Thomas B. Thriges Gade whose establishment approx. 40 years ago cut the city centre into two halves.
Odense Municipality and the Realdania Foundation are behind the project. The three competition proposals will now be further developed and presented to the public, and the local citizens will get a chance to contribute. The competition is expected to be decided in the end of November 2011.
