Design award for Henning Larsen Architects’ website

The site was developed in 2010 in collaboration with the digital design agency 1508. It appears as an open, user-oriented universe – a mix between a hyper-aesthetical coffee table book and a targeted digital business tool.

The website gives a unique picture – and offers a view behind the scenes – of Henning Larsen Architects as an architecture company. “We have opened up our universe and offer everyone a virtual visit and an insight into an architecture company filled with knowledge, visions and visual experiences”, says Communications Manager Farid Fellah, Henning Larsen Architects.

The website offers a special, innovative feature, Your Magazine, which allows the users to collect articles, information and other pages from the site and add them to their personal magazine.

The award 'Best Designed Site' was presented at Umbraco’s annual conference Codegarden that has focus on the open source programme Umbraco – by which the website of Henning Larsen Architects was created. As the motivation for the award, Codegarden writes: "Henning Larsen was chosen for its functional design. You can pick cases, articles etc. and generate a PDF from the site, which is cool for their users, but their sales people actually also use it to make ultra-fast sales pitches, and it's a beautiful site."

“We're looking for the designs that blow us away. Not only visually, but also in respect to web standards. Where stunning design meets clean markup”, Codegarden elaborates on its website.

In addition to the award for Best Designed Site, Umbraco also presented the award Best Technical Solution to Home.dk and the Best Integrated Site award to ThisIsCentralStation.com.
