The competiton area comprises a total of approx. 75,000 m2 new buildings for a new Centre of Orthopaedics and Neuroscience Centre, a patient hotel, administration facilities and a car park. In addition, the new buildings will house outpatient departments, research and educational facilities as well as offices.
Henning Larsen Architects has previously designed hospital facilities for the national hospital for cancer treatment in Norway, the Norwegian Radium Hospital, where the new Research Institute was completed in 2009 and the Radiation Therapy building in 2006.
