Prequalified for University Campus in Ballerup

University Campus Ballerup comprises Copenhagen University College of Engineering and Aalborg University Copenhagen with a total of approx. 3000 students and 400 employees.

The project consists of three sub-assignments: the preparation of a masterplan for the area and the design of two new buildings, one for the Danish Building Research Institute and a new building for the study programmes Mediaology and Wireless as well as the Department of Communication.

The vision is to create a dynamic study environment with a strong focus on social activities and a close connection to the business community in addition to the academic programmes. The campus should provide a flexible and variable framework for education and research and at the same time demonstrate state-of-the-art knowledge of sustainability.

The Danish University and Property Agency is behind the project in collaboration with Aalborg University, NCC Property Development, the Copenhagen University College of Engineering and the Municipality of Ballerup.

The team of Henning Larsen Architects includes the engineering company Orbicon as well as Thing & Wainø Landscape Architects. The winner of the competition is expected to be announced in the end of April 2011.
