The 8,000 m2 building will provide the framework for an attractive work and study environment for 300 graduate students, 75 PhD students and 100 researchers – of which half are from Denmark and half from China. The vision is to create an inspiring physical meeting place that brings together Danish and Chinese students and researchers – as well as the Centre and the business community.
The competition programme prepares the ground for a building of high architectural value and with a distinctive Danish identity. Furthermore, the building will have focus on energy, indoor climate and sustainability and will display Danish technologies in China.
In addition to Henning Larsen Architects, competition participants include Schmidt Hammer Lassen, Lundgaard & Tranberg Architects, Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects, 3XN and RH Architects. It is expected that the winner of the competition will be announced in February 2011.
