Sustainability up for debate

The debates taking place at Henning Larsen Architects during the winter of 2009/2010 have focus on different aspects of sustainability in the sphere of building, among these: does sustainability create value and is sustainability beautiful?

With an eagerly discussing audience and a highly knowledgeable panel of politicians, opinion makers and representatives of the building industry the debates provided a strong common take-off for the continuous work towards integrating sustainability in the development of buildings, cities and societies.

The participants debating "Sustainability and Aesthetics" included Anne Beim (Professor, Architect, The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture), Bjarke Ingels (Partner, Architect, BIG), Jens Thomas Arnfred (Partner, Architect, Tegnestuen Vandkunsten), Kasper Guldager Jørgensen (Manager of GXN, Architect, 3XN), Lone Wiggers (Partner, Architect, C.F. Møller), Louis Becker (Design Director and Partner, Henning Larsen Architects) and Signe Kongebro (Architect and Associate Partner, Henning Larsen Architects).

The participants debating "Sustainability and Value Creation" included Christian Hartmann (Head of Department, ATP Properties), Finn Mortensen (Executive Director, Climate Consortium Denmark), Frank Jensen (Lord Mayor of the City of Copenhagen), Katherine Richardson (Professor at the University of Copenhagen. Chairman of the Danish Commission on Climate Change Policy), Kirsten Halsnæs (Head of Programme, Risø DTU. Member of IPCC, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) and Signe Kongebro (Architect and Associate Partner, Henning Larsen Architects).
