The sustainable design of the building is inspired by the Syrian Damascus rose and will provide the framework for a number of scientific and cultural exhibitions that will give Syrian children the opportunity to meet and explore the world through play.
From Henning Larsen Architects' local base in Damascus, associated partner and project architect, Anne Marie Galmstrup, will supervise the construction process together with the Syrian team. Design Studio Damascus also develops designs for new competitions and sketch proposals.
Henning Larsen Architects won the competition for the Massar Children’s Discovery Centre in 2007.
