New partnership - water in cities

Henning Larsen Architects is a member of the new partnership, ‘Water in Cities’, which will work to find solutions to the climate challenges in Danish cities. More than 75 companies, research institutions and municipalities have joined together to develop innovative solutions to the problems caused by the increasing amounts of rain in the cities. A number of new large-scale projects in a number of Danish regions will contribute to point out solutions and new paths as regards climate-related problems in other countries.

With our profound experience in master and city plans, Henning Larsen Architects is continuously focused on the influence of climate change on the cities. Together with the engineering company, Orbicon - Leif Hansen, Henning Larsen Architects has developed a so-called ‘spatial climate strategy’ – an instrument to counselling the cities on how to handle the increasing amounts of rain. We take a holistic approach and work to revise the view on rainwater as something to be led away from the cities under ground to considering it as a visible, dynamic resource creating an increased value for the cites. Furthermore, we are members of Gate 21 - a broad municipal network with focus on developing effective solutions in the fields of climate and energy.
