The Design Department is behind numerous design projects ranging from industrial product design through large and small-scale interior designs to graphic designs, identities and exhibition design. Examples of its work include the Plaza Lamp series, the Y Table, bus shelters for Clear Channel as well as interior design, graphic design and signage solutions for Copenhagen Business School and Scandinavian Golf Club, among others.
Concept development and design processes form the basis of the projects of the Design Department. In recent years, a number of industrial manufacturers have changed their development methods and now focus more on processes, idea development, sustainability and production methods. With their qualifications, experience and network, the team behind the Design Department are highly competent collaborators.
The Department consists of industrial designers and graphic designers who solve complex design, lighting as well as graphic assignments. This interdisciplinary working method ensures that project concepts are prepared in detail, providing a precise and consistent result. In addition, the Department often collaborates with other professional groups inside and outside the company to achieve inspiration and competent sparring.
The development of numerous industrial products as well as large interior design and lighting assignments in connection with the building projects of Henning Larsen Architects have strengthened the knowledge and competences of the Design Department. For instance, the Department has carried out an identity assignment for the Danish Palaces and Properties Agency at Kronborg Castle, including the development of a graphic identity, interior design, lighting and furniture for the new Conference Centre of Kronborg. In relation to industrial design projects, the Design Department has designed street furniture, door handles and other commercial products for industry.
